Learning Providers

At OCNYHR we aim to give a friendly and effective service to learning providers in the region, to meet the needs of learners in all settings.

Our staff are committed to excellent customer service and we offer support to learning providers both in-house and from our office.

Our core objectives

  • To promote the development and take-up of credit-based courses and qualifications in order to enhance people’s life and work chances, regenerate communities, and build a successful regional economy
  • To reach disadvantaged learners and communities and promote diversity of learning
  • To provide members with flexible, high quality accreditation and support services for credit-based learning
  • To develop effective links with key regional agencies and take an active part in formulating regional learning solutions/strategies

Educational Services:

 OCNYHR staff are engaged in:

  • Matching national qualifications to delivery
  • Developing the curriculum to meet a provider’s needs
  • Disseminating national and regional information at free Seminars and Briefings
  • Visiting tutors and trainers in house to discuss how to implement national qualifications
  • Delivering one to one support for practitioners and administrators
  • Strategic planning for localities and city regions
  • Regional projects for sectors and city regions
  • National work with Sector Skills Councils on behalf of the National Open College Network (NOCN)

These activities are all delivered free of charge to our membership because the OCN believes in the role of learning in social inclusion and widening participation. We are a charity that works to promote these values across sectors and across the region.
