February 2011

Annual General Meeting of the Open College Network Yorkshire and Humber (OCNYHR) – 11.00 am to 1.00 pm - Friday 4th February 2011, OCN House, Wakefield

I would like to inform you that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at OCN House, Wakefield on Friday 4th February 2011. At this meeting, I will present the Annual Report to members, which includes performance indicators from the 2009-2010 operational year.

The report will include case studies of learners who have succeeded using NOCN qualifications and those who have attained the Access to Higher Education Diploma. This report is being compiled now, but if you have a case study of some innovative practice, using OCN or NOCN qualifications which you would like to share with others, please contact me directly by email at: j.lawton@ocnyhr.org.uk

As part of the AGM, we will also run a briefing session on the new Quality Assurance Qualifications and an update on nested qualifications within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). There will also be a chance to find out how we have managed to increase by 30% the number of learners doing the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in 2009-2010.

The AGM is also used as an opportunity to appoint new Trustees to our lively Board, so, if you are interested in putting your name forward for nomination and election, please contact me to find out what the commitment means.

This year’s AGM will be the last to be led by our current Chairman, John McLeod, as we say ‘goodbye’ to him as Chairman as he completes his three-year term of office.

At the AGM, we will be seeking to appoint his successor. Again, if you are interested in taking on this significant role, please contact me to discuss the time commitment required. This post is not remunerated.
